原Alodia was a child martyr from the 9th century. She and her sister, Nunilo, were forced into prostitution, then beheaded, for refusing to disavow christianity. I chose it as my confirmation name when I was 7, but I now wish I'd chosen something less depressing.
原I much prefer this to Elodie. It sounds mysterious and has an historical feel to it that I think is really appealing. Plus, it's easy to spell and pronounce.
