原I only not dislike this name because it was my grandfather's real name. He made everyone call him Bob though. Other than that I would think it's totally dorky and old fashioned.

原I dislike this name somewhat. Whenever I mention this name I always think of that Elmer Fudd who, I reckon, was a rather dislikeable character over the years since his creation and that of his arch-enemy Bugs Bunny.
原This is a really nice name with a great meaning, in my opinion, and would be highly usable if it wasn't for Elmer Fudd and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant!
原It makes me think first of Elmer's Glue, unfortunately. The meaning is really nice though, but I keep picturing the glue-bottle in my head when I hear the name.
