However, I read the Iliad and wow, let me tell you, that changed my whole perspective on the name. Hector was truly a noble man, and now I see the name in such a positive light. I really think if you dislike this name, read the Iliad. It'll give you some different perspective.

If I heard a parent shout: ''Hector, come here!'', I'd either roll my eyes or burst out laughing, depending on my mood. The name sounds quite vintage-elitist and harsh. I can only imagine middle-aged and old men named Hector, and, quite frankly, the image I get is that of a hairy and rather chubby man.
