原This name is not common, but I've only ever heard it pronounced "beh/bay-veen". Aoibhinn, which is fairly popular in Ireland, seems to be pronounced "ee/ay-veen", not "evin", so why would Beibhinn be "beh/bay-vin"?
原I love this name! It's especially cute when spelled Beibhinn. I have had to correct people on the spelling of my name all my life (Storey not Story) and it's really not that bad. A cute middle name is Beibhinn Rosalie. :)
原Béibhinn isn't a variant of Bébinn - it's the Modern Irish spelling. In Old Irish, Bébinn would have been written with a dot called a buailte over the second "b". In Modern Irish, this has been replaced with adding the "h". [noted -ed]
原This is one of those names that really grows on you. The first time I saw it, in fact (it was suggested as "Bevin"), I hated it. But it got stuck in my mind for some reason - and after a couple of days, I LOVED it!
If it weren't for the spelling and mispronunciation issue in the U.S. (I don't want to risk cheapening it with a respelling), I truly would not mind using this name.
原I really like how it appears because it is pretty but this would be a pronunciation nightmare (at least in the US). Everyone would probably spell this wrong. I would never name my child this, although it is a very pretty name.
