原I am fortunate to bear the name Jeannette, named for my mother and her grandmother. My great grandmother immigrated from Norway and spelled her name with one n. Rather than the nickname Jennie or Jenny I was called Jeannie; pronounced Jee - nee. When I was forty I met another Jeannette and it turned out we were born three weeks apart, (and get this!) we were raised in the same town, just 5 miles apart! I always liked the name Jeannette and shortened it to Jeanne as a middle name for my youngest daughter. I believe there was a first woman state Representative for Montana after it's statehood and her name was Jeannette Ranken or Rankin. There is also a glass company named Jeannette, and it's wares are now considered very collectable.
原This name is so pretty, unfortunately I don't know any Jeannettes. I find it sad that this name is no longer in the top 1000, you'll be hard pressed to find one. I think this is a great choice for a daughter, and though I wouldn't choose it myself, I would highly recommend it for someone who is considering it. Jennie is a cute nickname too :)
原Jennette is derived from Jeannette, and Jennette McCurdy is the co-star of the hit Nickelodeon show, iCarly. She also released her debut country single, "So Close" in March of 2009.
