原I was searching an online late Tudor and early Stuart English marriage register recently and found Emeline several times. It's prettier than Emmeline imho.
原I always thought it was spelled "Emmeline", with two "m"! And as it is stated as a French name, the spelling should in fact be "Emmeline" regarding the pronunciation of the name. As far as I know, "Emeline" would look and sound very strange in French. There's also an entry for the name "Emmeline" on this site, but the origin is stated as being different from this one's. I don't really get it.
