原I've used this name a few times in stories, after having gone to school with a girl named Chanté. This was in Illinois during the mid 1990s. She was born here in IL but her parents were from Vietnam (mom) and England (dad). I'm unsure where they heard the name initially though, as I was never close to the girl.
原Feminine? This screams masculine to me. "Chantée" is still a terrible name, but is at least offensive on one less level because it agrees with the girl's gender.
