原My name is Schuyler I was born May of 1995 and I love my name oh and I'm a female. My mother has always picked awesome names- these are my siblings' names: Fleur, Tristan, Avalon, Madison, and then me Schuyler (Skye for short). Yes I love the name! If I were a boy I was supposed to be Ryder. Anyways, yah it was annoying how people couldn't pronounce my name or people would literally fight with me saying the spelling is wrong and I'm like dude... it's my name. But the amount of compliments I've gotten is way more than the negatives.

This version is only listed as male, but to be honest, I have only ever seen Schuyler used on girls (though I have seen plenty of boy Skylers). Another part of the difficulty circling this name, which has been mentioned by other posters, is the intense confusion regarding pronunciation... before I knew that this, essentially, is Skyler, I would mouth the name to myself, attempting to figure it out -- SHIE-ler, SHOO-yler, SKOO-ler, and finally it dawned on me: SKIE-ler.
原After doing some more research on this name, I believe the Dutch name may originally have been an adaptation of the German "Schüler", which derives from the word for school and means student.
