The common reactions people have towards the name Alvin reminds me of the common reactions people have towards the name Shaun (how it reminds many of a fictional character i.e. Shaun the Sheep). Anyway, I like the sound of the name Alvin. It's a cute, handsome, classic name that ages very well. :)

原If you're cartoon-crazed, then yeah, you'll think of "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Okay I do too, but other than that I think Alvin is a pleasant, cute, likable name.
原It'll remind people too much of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Some people might think the Chipmunks will be forgotten by the time they have kids, but they've been around since the 50s, so I don't believe they'll be going anywhere for a long time. Plus, when someone gets mad at the kid, they'll be tempted to scream, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLVVVVVVVVVVVVIIIIIIIINNNNNNNN!"
