Marcie hasn't changed it in 48 years so she can't dislike it that badly.
原I named my daughter Marchella. Added the "h" to make sure English speakers pronounced it "ch" as the Italians do. No nicknames like Marcy, Cella though. Straight Marchella or Chella Bella only, please.
原The name Marcella doesn't seem to be very popular anymore. It was only given to 166 baby girls born in the US in 2012. I'm not sure why, it's a pretty name.
原I was named Marcella after my great grandma. I was mostly referred to as Marcy, but also Celly, Cella, Marce. Now that I am in my 30s I go by Marcella a lot. I have gotten a lot of compliments when I tell people my name. As for someone thinking it sounds like the name of someone mean, well all I know is my great grandma was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. And I don't see myself as mean. But maybe we just are different from the rest lol.
