原As a girl who is named Blossom, I can give two things. 1) Naming your child Blossom WILL get her called a Powerpuff Girl. It is a given, at least in this current generation. It's not commonly used in a teasing manner for me though, and I actually prefer going by it than my first name- Blossom is my middle name, though my first name is just as flowery. 2) If your child is named Blossom, they will probably have quite a few friends, as people will trust them more. It is a light-hearted name that means 'new beginnings, new life, spring, and freshness' and is associated with kindness and good. 3) I pray you don't live in an area with wide knowledge of Opossums. Please do not name your child Blossom if you have wide knowledge of possums. That was, unfortunately, a common nickname during my childhood and it made me miserable. I laugh about it now though, as I make it into a personal joke.
原This definitely works as a middle name or nickname. If you really like it, it also works as a first name. There is always the middle name alternative, so why not? I honestly don't see this as a bad name.

And as for the Powerpuff Girls thing, I haven't watched that show in years and remember very little about it, so the association doesn't bother me.

The guy says, "I don't like her name" as a reason why he can't marry her. The sister insists that that's not Blossom's fault, but the guy explains (something like this): "I can't have a wife named Blossom, I'll feel like I'm calling the cow in every night!"
I laughed for, I don't know, about a good five minutes. I could never curse a kid with this name.
原I usually like flower names, but Blossom sounds silly as a given name. It makes me think of the Powerpuff Girls. I loved the cartoon, though, and at least it doesn't sound as bad as Buttercup or especially Bubbles.

It really is quite literally a flowery name, and the whole blossoming thing makes people think of youth and being ''unfinished'', so the name is terrible for a girl past puberty. Oh, and speaking of puberty, the girl might get tacky jokes about *blossoming*. Not recommended.

原"Blossom" could have a nameday on Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday (the Sunday before Easter) is the day of flowers and willows (the names of the other trees also have a nameday).
