原I find it quite funny that the Dutch apparently had no idea what to do with the name George because we managed to get Joris, Jurgen, Jurriaan and Sjors from it, most of which don't sound or look remotely like the name George. The closest is probably Sjors, but that one sounds horribly trashy, while the other three are okay.
原The easiest to imagine how the name is pronounced is to say the first "y" from the word "yesterday", plus the "ue" sound from the French word "Rue" (Street), plus the "r" from the word "fur", plus the "g" how it would be pronounced at the beginning of the Name "Gary", plus the name "Ann". Sounds complicated and it is indeed :)
