原My name is Lucinda, but I'm called and I sign my name as Luci. I never liked using Lucy as a diminutive for Lucinda, because to me it's a different name, and there's not a "y" in Lucinda. Plus, people forget my name all the time (even if I'm preferring a different name) and I tend to find explaining my name easier to remember.
原I adore this name- it sounds beautiful and elegant and has a couple of great nicknames too. Lucy or Cindy are my favourites, they sound great but in my opinion are too overly common and lack sophistication to be used as the full names in their own right where Lucinda sounds very intelligent and proper. I will for sure use Lucinda as a name if I am lucky enough to have a daughter of my own someday in the future :)
