原Strong male name and definitely not a girl's name. The name also has Celtic connections namely Irish, and you get fair few people in Ireland called it. I would say it's an older generation name like Arthur in England, so still has that rare factor which is also nice.

原My son is called Lincoln. I am from the UK. His name means by the lake and ironically, I didn't manage to push him out in the birthing pool - therefore he was born 'by the pool'. I didn't know the meaning until afterwards but it made sense. I often call him Linc or Linco. I feel it's a very strong name. I hear it a lot more now - films, tv etc. I'm not sure about the name for a girl but it cannot be any worse than some of the more 'common' names cropping up out there.

原Lincoln Chafee was a Rhode Island politician who served as the 74th governor since 2011. Prior to that he was a United States Senate who served as a republican. He is notable enough to be mentioned and one reason to like the name. He is also kind of handsome, I think I am attracted to him :D

"Link" is a splendid diminutive-- one that has the ability to grow and transfer from boy to man with grace.
原I like this name. I think it'd be cool to name two twin boys Lincoln and Lee, after the Civil War commanders from both sides of the war. Kinda like ying and yang.

原I would seriously consider naming one of my sons Lincoln. I think it had a lot of class and structure for a name. The connection between the name Lincoln and Abraham Lincoln would be a petty reason to not use this name. That's like saying you wouldn't use the name Benjamin because of Benjamin Franklin. My only grief with this name is that it doesn't have a great meaning for it but it's still a great name.
原In the movie, 'The Island' everyone had clones of themselves to better ensure their longevity. But one of the clones called Lincoln Six Echo, broke free and desired to live like a real person. It was pretty cool.
原I have nothing against the name Lincoln although it's not my favorite. My only suggestion is that if you're going to name your son Lincoln, it's probably better you don't live in Nebraska. Since it's the capital and all.
