Although, I was thinking of naming her Tamar but then again, for an American or English book, it wouldn't sound too proper for a character who is half-Caucasian, plus it wouldn't be fair to just use it loosely since it's a name from the Scriptures. TAMARA could also be spelt TAMARAH and it has a unique, mysterious sounding.
